01. Introduction

Welcome to Salon Buddy (referred to as "the App", "we", "us", or "our"), an intuitive Point of Sale (POS) and appointment management system designed for hair salons, barbershops, spas, and beauty professionals. Salon Buddy is designed, developed, and published by Dubleo Tech ("Developer", "Company"), a software development agency headquartered in Islamabad, Pakistan.

At Dubleo Tech, your business privacy is foundational. We built Salon Buddy with a privacy-first, offline-first philosophy. This Privacy Policy outlines what data is processed when you use the App, why it is needed, how it is secured, and your rights regarding access and deletion.

02. Types of Data Processed & Storage Architecture

To ensure maximum privacy and reliable offline operations without internet dependency, Salon Buddy handles information across two clearly defined tiers:

A. Local Business & Customer Data (Stored Exclusively on Your Device)

All day-to-day salon operating records created inside the App remain on your device in a private local SQLite database sandbox:

• Client Information: Client names, phone numbers, visit history, service notes, and loyalty reward points.
• Financial & Sales Records: Invoices, daily sales ledgers, itemized receipts, tip distributions, and payment methods.
• Staff Profiles & Security: Team member names, job titles, commission percentages, and local security PIN codes.
• Service Catalog & Inventory: Haircut/service titles, category groupings, pricing, durations, and consumable inventory items.
• Business Profile: Salon/barbershop name, branch address, contact number, receipt headers, and custom logo.

Dubleo Tech does not have continuous or automated access to your local SQLite database. This data is physically stored in your device's isolated app container.

B. Optional Cloud Backup (User-Initiated via Supabase)

For business continuity, Salon Buddy offers an optional Cloud Backup feature. When you explicitly enable cloud backups:

• Your database archive is compressed and encrypted (AES-256) on your device prior to transmission.
• The encrypted archive is uploaded to our secure enterprise cloud storage backend powered by Supabase.
• Backups are tied to your unique user account credentials or backup key to permit secure multi-device restoration.
• Dubleo Tech employees do not inspect, decrypt, or share your database content.

C. Advertising & Diagnostic Data (Google AdMob)

To support the development and maintenance of our free app tier, Salon Buddy integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google AdMob may automatically collect pseudonymous technical data strictly in accordance with Google's policies:

• Google Advertising ID (GAID / AAID).
• Device hardware model, operating system version, and general locale/carrier.
• Ad interaction metrics (e.g., ad impressions, click counts, performance logs).
• Coarse IP address (used for approximate geographic region detection and fraud prevention).

You can control or reset your advertising identifier directly in your Android device settings under Settings > Google > Ads.

03. Device Permissions & Purpose

Salon Buddy requests only the minimum Android runtime permissions essential for providing core salon POS functions:

• Biometric Authentication (Fingerprint / Face Unlock): Used strictly for securing the App Lock feature. All biometric verification is processed on-device by Android's native BiometricPrompt API. Biometric signatures are never read, stored, or transmitted by Salon Buddy.
• Storage & Media Access: Required to allow you to import or export database backups (e.g., CSV or SQLite backup files) and select photos from your gallery for your salon logo or service illustrations.
• Camera (Optional): Required if you choose to snap a photo directly for a service thumbnail or receipt logo.
• Network & Internet: Required to sync optional cloud backups, check for updates, and serve Google AdMob advertisements.

04. Third-Party Service Providers

We partner with vetted, industry-leading infrastructure providers to deliver specific functionalities:

• Google AdMob: For displaying contextual advertisements. Review the Google Privacy & Terms.
• Supabase: For optional encrypted cloud database backup storage. Review the Supabase Privacy Policy.

05. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

You hold unconditional rights to your data. Since your core records reside on your physical phone or tablet:

• Local Data: Retained as long as you keep Salon Buddy installed. You can delete all local records instantly at any time via Settings > Data & Database > Reset Database, or by clearing app storage in Android OS settings.
• Cloud Backup Data: Encrypted backup archives remain on our cloud servers until you delete them in-app or submit a deletion request.

In strict compliance with Google Play Store User Data policies, we provide a dedicated self-service and verified deletion procedure. You can request complete erasure of all cloud records at any time.

06. Children's Privacy

Salon Buddy is a business management tool intended for salon proprietors, stylists, barbers, and commercial operators. The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children.

07. Security Safeguards

Dubleo Tech employs rigorous technical measures to safeguard your information:

• End-to-end encrypted transmission via TLS 1.3 for all network calls.
• Client-side cryptographic encryption (AES-256) for cloud backup archives.
• Sandboxed device storage restricting other installed applications from inspecting Salon Buddy records.
• Local PIN and Biometric App Lock to protect against unauthorized physical access to your salon checkout register.

08. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, security improvements, or regulatory requirements.
